The 10th annual IBCA/IHSAA Underclass Girls Showcase has been set for July 20 at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis.

Staged by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association with support from the Indiana High School Athletic Association, the Underclass Showcase events are designed to give exposure to top basketball prospects from across the state to colleges across the state and nation.

The 2012 Girls Showcase will be on Friday, July 20 and begins at 2 p.m. and will last until about 8 p.m.

In 2011, coaches from 92 colleges attended the Underclass Showcase events. Among them were coaches from NCAA Division I programs such as Ball State, Belmont, Binghamton, Bowling Green, Butler, Davidson, DePaul, Detroit, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, George Washington, Illinois-Chicago, Indiana, Indiana State, IPFW, IUPUI, Lamar, Loyola, Mercer, Miami (Ohio), Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Missouri State, Morehead State, Navy, Notre Dame, Purdue, Saint Louis, South Carolina-Upstate, Southern Illinois, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Stetson, Tennessee-Martin, Valparaiso, Villanova, Western Illinois, Western Michigan, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Wright State, Youngstown State.

The itinerary for the girls showcase is as follows:

    1:00-2:00 p.m. — Registration/check-in for players and coaches. Enter the south side of the building through             Entrance 4. After check-in, players and coaches report to the Fitness Center for warm-ups.
        
    2:00-2:15 p.m. — Introductions and expectations. Announcements from Coach Witty and Coach Layden.
    2:20-2:30 p.m. — Warm-ups by Methodist Sports Medicine.
    2:30-3:30 p.m. — STATIONS (nine minutes each, one minute to rotate)
        Station 1&2 – Court 1&2 Transition Defense and Offense
        Station 3 – Court 3 Shooting Drills – Pull up jumpers and Transition shots
        Station 4 – Court 3 (1/2 court) Contain, Protect and Contest -individual and help defense
        Station 5 – Court 4 (1/2 court) Rebounding 4 on 4 (Block outs and “O” Rebounding)
        Station 6 – Court 4 (1/2 court) 1 on 1 Moves & Ballhandling (Open Ct. moves)    
    3:35-4:25 p.m. — FIRST SESSION OF GAMES
        2 Games on Main Gym            
        4 Games in Fitness Center
    4:30-5:20 p.m. — SECOND SESSION OF GAMES
        3 games (6 teams) in Fitness Center
        6 teams have lunch and listen to NCAA presentation from Joyce Thompson
    5:30-6:20 p.m. — SECOND SESSION OF GAMES (Continued)
        Two groups switch — 3 games (6 teams) in Fitness Center
        Six teams that played earlier have lunch and listen to NCAA presentation from Joyce Thompson
    6:30-6:50 p.m. – Guest Speaker – TBA

    7:00-7:50 p.m. — FINAL SESSION OF GAMES
