The rising IUPUI women’s basketball program received a key commitment from Benton Central senior guard Caitlyn Tolen earlier this month. Tolen, at 5’10 combo guard, is averaging 24.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 4.6 steals per game this season.
The early signing period for Division I athletes begins two week from tomorrow, and a good number of players from the Class of 2013 have made their decisions known, some years ago as sophomores and juniors, and some in the past few weeks.
Logansport junior point guard Whitney Jennings has verbally committed to Iowa head coach Lisa Bluder.
Junior standout Kindell Fincher of Fort Wayne Canterbury has verbally committed to Xavier Univeristy. The 5’10 forward averaged 21.2 points and 12.2 points as a sophomore on last season’s 1A State Championship team, leading her team to a 25-2 record.
The 2011 early signing period begins next week, and we are hearing about a few more commitments from the Class of 2012.
