An elite group of the state’s 2013-2014 senior players will participate in the 26th annual North-South Indiana All-Star Classic on Sunday, April 13.

This girls and boys doubleheader will be played at Vincennes University in Vincennes, Indiana at 2 p.m. (girls) and 4 p.m. (boys). The North/South Indiana All-Star Classic is sponsored by Hoosier Basketball Magazine and Pacesetter Sports of Terre Haute. It will be the third time that Vincennes University has hosted the event.

The girls’ game features 2014 Indiana Miss Basketball Whitney Jennings of Logansport. Jennings led the state in scoring (32 ppg) and is signed to play at the University of Iowa. Another top performer is Indiana signee Maura Muensterman, Evansville Mater Dei (22.7 ppg) who finished second in Miss Basketball voting. Other top scorers include Kindell Fincher, Fort Wayne Canterbury (25.8 ppg, Butler), Allison Nash, Speedway (24.9 ppg, Hanover), Haley Cook, Hamilton Heights (23.3 ppg, Kentucky Wesleyan).

Three Indiana Division I Universities have players representing their schools: Sydney Buck, Homestead (Butler), Allyson Bunch, Columbus East (IPFW) and Erica Moore, Mt. Vernon-Fortville (Purdue). Two other Division I talents are Kayla Brown, Westfield (Miami, Ohio) and Ana Owens, Lawrence North (Cincinnati).

Knox County is well represented with two players from Class “A” state runner-up Vincennes Rivet — Bailey Dreiman and Lauren Herman — along with Maria Gugliotta of North Knox. Finally, two Vincennes University recruits will also participate in the North/South Classic. They are Chelsea Bentley, Anderson and Alicia Wilson, Owen Valley.

The North girls will be coached by Jerry Hoover, Logansport. Evansville Memorial coach Bruce Dockery will lead the South girls.
