Indiana State hires Moren as new program leader

Teri MorenIndiana State University has hired former Indianapolis coach and Purdue player Teri Moren as the new leader of its women’s basketball program. Moren has spent the past three years as an associate head coach at Georgia Tech.

Moren replaces 10-year head coach Jim Wiede, who was suspended prior to resigning during the final weeks of the 2009-10 season. The Sycamores were 17-14 this past season, falling to Illinois State in the MVC tournament. ISU returns all but two players next year, including Indiana players Megan Burton (Bedford NL), Deja Mattox (Maconaquah), Amanda Pedro (FW Luers), Andrea Rademacher (Borden), Brittany Schoen (South Central) and Krista Smith (Terre Haute South).  The Sycamores will also welcome newcomer Anna Munn (Decatur Central) in 2010-11.

Moren will keep on current associate head coach Clint Weddle, who competed against Moren for the head job opening. Weddle served as an assistant and recruiting coordinator for one year under Moren during her seven-year tenure at D-II Indianapolis University. She will meet with second assistant and former ISU great Melanie Boeglin, and third assistant, Kentucky native and former Evansville University player, Cammie Campbell when both return from the Final Four in San Antonio.
