Oties Epps named new head coach at UE
Former Wisconsin assistant coach Oties Epps has been named the new head coach for the Evansville Aces women’s basketball program after a nationwide search.
Epps comes to lead the Aces after assistant posts at Wisconsin and Cleveland State. During his time at Wisconsin, he spent two years on staff with former UE head coach Kathi Bennett, now the head coach at Northern Illinois.
More than 75 applicants submitted bids for the job, some with past ties to the program, including Toledo assistant Todd Mitmesser, who left UE for the Rockets program along with former UE head coach Tricia Cullop.
Epps takes over for outgoing coach Misty Murphy, who compiled a 23-66 record during her three-year tenure.
