Quick Hits: College Moves
A couple of items on the college news front with regard to player movement:
- Former Terre Haute South ’08 standout Megan Craft has signed on with Ball State after two years at Vincennes University. The 5’4 sharpshooting guard was named an All-American Honorable Mention after a JUCO sophomore season where she logged 9.7 points and 6.2 assists per game, while shooting 51% from three-point (3rd in the nation) and 84% from the free throw line (9th in the nation). - Valparaiso University freshman forward Raegan Moore has informed the VU staff that she will be leaving the team to attend a school closer to her Pennsylvania home. Moore, who averaged 5.7 points per game, was coming on strong at the end of the season as an integral part of the Crusader offense. Moore’s departure, together with the graduation of three post players, will open up a number of early playing time opportunities next season for incoming freshmen post players Tabitha Gerardot (5’11 F, FW Canterbury), Liz Horton (6’1 F, Barr-Reeve), Stefanie Lang (6’4 C, Valparaiso) and Maegen Callaway (6’1 F, Mooresville). VU also now has an available scholarship to give for the 2010-11 season if they choose to use it. More: VU men gain basketball recruit, women lose transfer – The Times
