RRR Peak Performers – Week 1
We have a pair of record-breaking performances that top our two categories for the week from November 8 through November 14. Congrats to our first-ever RRR Peak Performers!
RRR High School Peak Performer for Week 1
Sophomore Hattie Andrews (#35 at right) had game highs of 28 points, 26 rebounds and 3 blocks to lead Gavit to a 70-42 win over Lew Wallace on Saturday. The 6’3 center’s 26 rebounds set a Gladiator single-game record.
Other high school nominees:
- In Hamilton Heights’ 82-69 win against Seymour on November 13, 5’7 senior point guard Jessica Carr logged 21 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals and 2 blocks. Carr is a Valparaiso University commit. More: Huskies clobber Seymour – The Times
- In Columbus East High School’s 79-49 win against Rushville on November 13, 5’7 senior guard Alicia Hopkins logged 20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals.
- In Fort Wayne Snider’s 82-69 win against Wayne High School on November 13, 5’11 junior forward Akilah Sims logged 21 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks. Of note: Sims led the Panthers to a convincing win over Wayne High School. She led the team with 21 points on 9 of 14 shooting and 3 of 4 from the charity stripe. This was a big rivalry game with the former Elmhurst players and coaches playing against one of their former teammates in Liza Clemons. Sims stepped up and played an outstanding game!
- In Snider’s 76-26 win against Heritage on November 10, 5’10 sophomore guard Meredith Shipman logged 17 points, 5 assists and 7 steals. Of note: This was Snider’s opening game of the season. - In her team’s 73-47 season opening win over Clarksville, New Washington 5’7 senior guard Casey Johnson logged 30 points, including 9 three-pointers, setting a new school record for triples in a single game. More: New Wash’s Johnson sets school record in opener – Evening News & Tribune
- In her team’s opening win over East Chicago Central, 5’6 Hobart senior Amanda Corral had 27 points for the Brickies. Corral announced last week that she is signing with Northern Illinois.
- In her team’s 61-44 win over Andrean, 5’7 junior Raveen Murray tallied 27 points for the Pirates.
RRR College Peak Performer for Week 1
In Indiana University Northwest’s 57-51 non-conference win against Trinity Christian on November 9, 6’4 junior forward Sharon Houston (Merrillville ’06) logged 25 points, 31 rebounds, 2 assists and 6 blocks. Of note: Houston’s 31 rebounds established a new single game school record eclipsing her own previous mark of 26 set last season on 2/6/10 in a win over Trinity International.

- In Purdue Cal’s 86-75 win over St. Francis (IL), PUC sophomore guard Tierra Turner (Merrillville ’08) had 29 points (3-5 from three point), 16 rebounds and 3 steals in 37 minutes of play.
- In Purdue’s 93-53 Preseason WNIT win over Austin Peay, freshman point guard Courtney Moses (Oak Hill ’10) had 20 points (4-5 from three point) and 5 assists, while shooting 63.6 percent from the field, in 37 minutes of play.
- In Wright State’s 95-47 exhibition win over Kentucky State, WSU junior Molly Fox (Brown County ’07) logged 16 points, 11 rebounds and 2 steals in 27 minutes of play.
- In Penn State’s 95-32 win over Rider, sophomore guard Alex Bentley (Ben Davis ’09) logged 13 points (6-10 from the field), 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals and 0 turnovers in 25 minutes of play.
- In IPFW’s 96-40 exhibition win over Manchester, junior Anne Boese (Cathedral ’08) logged 26 points (6-9 from three-point), 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 0 turnovers in 26 minutes of play.
- In Valparaiso’s 70-46 exhibition win over Grace on November 2, VU freshman Stefanie Lang (Valparaiso ’10) logged 14 points and 9 rebounds in 16 minutes of play, shooting 60% from the field.
- In Loyola’s 78-40 exhibition win over Robert Morris on October 30, Chargers sophomore Abby Skube (Chesterton ’09) had 13 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block in 13 minutes of play.
