AP Preseason Top 25 Poll ranks Notre Dame #12
Irish senior Becca Bruszewski (Wheeler) will try to lead ND to another successful season.
The Associated Press Preseason Top 25 Poll was released yesterday, ranking Notre Dame 12th in voting. The Irish lost two great Indiana products to graduation in steady point guard Melissa Lechlitner (South Bend St. Joseph’s) and versatile scorer Ashley Barlow (Pike), but return All-Big East Preseason First Teamer Skylar Diggins (13.8 ppg, South Bend Washington) and blue-collar post starter Becca Bruszewski (9.1 ppg, Wheeler, right).
The Irish are hoping to take last year’s momentum into this season after an excellent 2009-10 campaign when ND went 29-6 overall and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament before falling to eventual Final Four qualifier Oklahoma.
