Butler head coach Beth Couture announced today the addition of two new assistants to her staff. Former Youngstown State head coach Tisha Hill and former IPFW first assistant Alex Webster of  (RRR daughter, right) will help Couture from the sidelines this upcoming season.

Hill brings 15 years of college coaching experience and comes to Butler after spending five years at the helm of fellow Horizon League school Youngstown State. She won 45 games during her time at YSU, improving the team’s single-season win total by 10 during her tenure. While at Youngstown State, she coached one first team All-Horizon League performer as well as two league all-newcomer team selections. She also served as an assistant at Ball State (2001-03) and Indiana (1993-95). Hill was a point guard at Indiana and set school records for career assists and steals, while leading IU to a WNIT runner-up finish in 1992 as a senior.

“I’m really excited to add a coach to our staff with Tisha’s experience,” Couture said. “She has been successful as a head coach as well as an assistant for several successful programs. I feel like she’s the type of coach that will not only help us continue our success but also help us as we set our goals to get to the next level.”

Webster comes to Butler after spending three seasons at IPFW, including the last two as the top assistant on the staff. While at IPFW, the Crown Point, Ind., native oversaw recruiting and scouting while assisting with game plans and practice. She will be the recruiting coordinator for the Bulldogs.

“We feel very fortunate to be able to add Alex to our staff,” Couture said. “It was apparent during her interview that her excitement for basketball and Butler will help us as we continue to fight for a league championship. Alex’s experience as a player at a winning program like Green Bay will be an asset as she mentors our players.”
